How do you calculate the cost of no-shows?
Multiply appointments per day by days open per month and by your no-show rate to get missed appointments per month. Multiply that by your average production per appointment for the production lost each month, and by 12 for the year.
How do I work out my no-show rate?
Divide the appointments patients missed by the appointments scheduled over the same period, then multiply by 100. Count late cancellations the way your practice already does, and use the same period for every number you enter.
Is the result money we lost?
It's the production booked into appointments that were missed. Some of it comes back when a slot is refilled or the patient reschedules, so read it as what no-shows put at risk, not as a loss on your books.
Does the calculator keep what I enter?
No. There is no form and nothing to sign up for. The numbers stay in your browser and are gone when you leave the page.
